Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is giving multiplayer setup a more personal feel when it launches worldwide on October 23, 2026. The big change is simple: each Custom Loadout can now have its own Operator. That means your sniper class, rush class, and objective setup can all look different. When Custom Classes Open Up
New players will begin with Default Loadouts, so the full system is not available from the first match. Reach Player Level 4 and Create a Class unlocks. From there, you can make as many as twelve Custom Loadouts. That extra room matters because players often keep separate builds for long sightlines, tight indoor fights, objective work, and general play. You do not have to force one Operator to fit every role.
Assigning an Operator
Open the multiplayer lobby and enter Create a Class. Pick a saved slot, such as Custom Class 01 or Custom Class 02, then look along the top of the editing screen for the Operator tab. Select it to open the character roster. The process is quick, but it is worth checking each slot one at a time so the right character matches the right weapons and equipment.

Match the Look to the Role
As you highlight a character, the game shows their model with the selected gear. You can then confirm the choice for that particular class. The point is less about power and more about making each build easy to recognise at a glance.

Once several classes are saved, moving between them feels more natural. The Operator model changes with the loadout, so the screen always reflects the setup you are about to use. You can keep one character tied to a familiar role or mix the roster across all twelve slots.
